Grades & Middle Grades
Waldorf-Inspired Learning Rooted in Nature
Learning Through Head, Heart & Hands
At Heartsong, our Grades & Middle Grades programs offer a Waldorf-inspired educational experience where academic learning, creativity, movement, and meaningful connections with nature come together.
Students explore mathematics, science, language arts, history, and the natural world through a thoughtful balance of classroom learning, artistic expression, hands-on experiences, and outdoor exploration.
Our approach honors each child’s development, nurturing curiosity, confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. With four core curriculum days and additional Friday learning opportunities, families can explore participation options that support their children’s needs and learning journey.
Our Programs

Grades Program
Ist - 4th Grade
Our Grades Program nurtures the whole child through an engaging blend of academics, creative expression, movement, and time in nature.
Using the classroom, homestead, and forest as places of learning, students build strong foundations in mathematics, science, reading, and writing.
Songs, mythology, handwork, and theater bring learning to life, while outdoor experiences encourage curiosity, collaboration, and a meaningful connection with the natural world.
Middle Grades Program
5th–8th Grade
Our Middle Grades Program offers a rich and supportive learning environment that meets students at this important stage of growth and discovery.
Through engaging academics, creative expression, movement, and real-world experiences, students develop critical thinking, independence, and confidence.
Main Lessons bring together language arts, mathematics, science, history, and the arts, encouraging students to explore ideas deeply and discover connections across subjects.
With time in nature and opportunities for hands-on exploration, students are supported as they discover who they are and who they are becoming.
