Date Night

Date night is a celebration of childhood that happens monthly at Heartsong. Parents drop of children for up to four hours of care. We go through an evening rhythm that includes food, play, snack, tidying, bed preparation and restful stories. Parents pick up children who are ready for bed.

Rhythm of Date Night:

We will be doing these at least once a month... Typically on the Third Friday of the month (unless otherwise specified)

Rhythm (Times are suggestions):

5:00 pm: Cutting veggies for the veggie tray, making famous ranch dressing, setting the table while the pizza bakes. Free play and calling kids in one at a time to help with tasks.

5:30: Potty break and wash hands for dinner.

5:45: Pizza is out, we all eat together. Sing a song for the food.

6:20: Finish dinner as kids wash dishes and do dinner chores. They may begin to play freely here but will be called over to help on tasks as they arise.

Dress up clothes, scarves and a seasonal toy set up will be in the room for free play.

Art supplies, puzzles and games will be available on the big table for bigger kids.

This is a time for crafting, carding wool, braiding, finger knitting, weaving, gods eyes, making medicines, decorating and other seasonal crafts will be available here.

6:40: Peal off kids a few at a time for a bathroom break.

7:00: Tidy Time.

7:20: Tea and crumpets (a little muffin, honey cookie, Graham cracker).

7:40: Meal chores.

8:00: Bathroom Break (Everyone tries)

8:15: Jammie and brush teeth. Star Spots (children can make a special spot for themselves on the floor) I will have a pile of blankets for choosing. They may bring their own blanket and stuffy for this part. Their clothes and creations are put in their bags and readied for when parents come for pick up.

8:30: Lights are low, a candle is lit, the teacher reads or tell a seasonal story while children are being picked up.

9:00 pm: Final tidy and close the room.
