Imagniation and Discovery: Heartsong Living Arts Summer Camp is more than just a camp; it's a journey of exploration, inspiration, and growth. With our Waldorf-inspired philosophy, we nurture the whole child, fostering their love for the outdoors, arts, and camaraderie. Our camp offerings are tailored to various age groups:

PROGRAMS:

Kinderforest Camps:

For ages 3-6 from 9am-1pm. It follows our typical preschool rhythm. We go inn the shaded greenhouse for lunch and spend the bulk of the time in the sun or forest. There will be daily crafts, story telling, song, rhyme and fun. Dress for warm weather, sun and lots of mud. Children need a backpack packed with snack and water bottle and a separate sack lunch. Come in water clothes or send them along, we have a slip and slide. The children put on a small parade every Friday at 2 pm.

Adventure Camps:

For 7-12 year-old’s from 9am-3pm. We spend days exploring the theme of the week both on site and through Gorge fieldtrips. Dress for warm weather, sun and various ecosystems. Adventurers need a backpack packed with snack and water bottle and a sack lunch. Nature based activities guide the camp, but we will mix in plenty of games as well as team building and cooperative skill building

FEES:

Camps and camp fees are for the whole week. If a child has participated in a full week of camp or has been formerly enrolled in our summer camp/annual programs, and space allows, we can occasionally make room for a daily drop in. Please contact Stephanie directly to set this up.

Kinder Camps have the following themes

Tuesday-Friday we do crafts, sing songs, listen to stories, play on a slip and slide and play in the woods. Fridays at 2 pm the children put on a very small parade with face paints, costumes and singing a song from the week.

  • Kinderforest: We welcome children in regal style as they dress as the royal court along with fairy’s, dwarfs, elves and even dragons. Songs, story, play and art centers on a magical kingdom of their creation.

  • Kinderforest:

    Your little pirate will be swabbing the deck, following pirate maps and digging for buried treasure. Songs, stories, play and art will have them in pirate play land.

  • Kinderforest: Your favorite animal or plant will be fully embodied in this week of celebration. A procession of the species will occur daily as our songs, stories, play and art capture our reverence for all the kingdoms of life.

Centered on the rhythm of the Waldorf classroom, but grounded in the expansiveness of summer and the outdoors, these camps begin in circle and game, and transition to arts & crafts, exploration and fun. The slip and slide will be available daily to cool off.

  • In the setting of farm and woods, we will be Expanding our Chicken Coop (July) and goat pen (Aug). You’ll also find us exploring the woods, whittling an carving with many different types of wood building natural shelters and more. Children will be supervised using knives, shovels, rope, hammers, nails, saws and more. Songs, games and stories are a part of the daily rhythm.

  • Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. While there will be a mythical quality to this camp in which each child will design their own personal super hero and create a unique costume to go with. We will tell stories and sing songs that cover the spectrum of the Hero and the Hero’s Journey. We will design a group play to be performed on Friday that incorporates all of our Heroes. Games, songs, stories, theater and adventure are essential elements of this camp.

  • While the garden is in full bloom, we practice harvesting, planting and preparing food, medicine, and making beauty from the natural world around us. We will be cooking, baking, and making fiber arts throughout the week. Games, songs, adventure, and lots of play round out this camp.

Winter Camp
