HEARTSONG LEARNING VILLAGE: GRADES & HOMESCHOOL HYBRID
Are you seeking a holistic, alternative educational experience for your child? Welcome to Heartsong’s Learning Village, a Waldorf-inspired Grades & Hybrid Homeschool program designed to nurture the mind, heart, and spirit of children in 1st-8th grade.
Our Learning Village offers an enriching environment where children engage in hands-on, experiential learning, blending the time-honored principles of Waldorf education with options for full-time enrollment, as well as options for homeschool families to join 1, 2, 3 or 4 days/week.
1st-5th GRADES PROGRAM runs Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. Early drop-off and aftercare are available.
Using the classroom, homestead and forest as sites of learning, our Grades Program educates children in math, science, reading and writing using a range of techniques and approaches tailored to the learning style and needs of each child. Songs, mythology, handwork, and theatre bring our students together in creative expression, while unstructured, outdoor play builds social and communication skills while providing movement and release for young bodies and minds. Grade Schoolers spend the final day of each week engaged in Farm & Forest Friday. This day is dedicated to learning in action where children attend to the life of the farm and forest, learning skills that provide practical applications of math, science, language and art. Farm & Forest Friday brings children into relationship with the seasons through primitive skills, farming, earth based education, stories, hands-on building, herbalism, cooking and more. For parents who are excited to lead lessons in math, language arts, science, foreign language, building, art, hand-work, or theatre, we have created a co-op model where you can share your skills! Teaching parents will be supported in curriculum development and lesson building by our lead Grades teacher. Families participating in this co-op model will be offered a significant reduction in tuition fees in exchange for teaching time or other skilled labor. Our goal is to build a thriving, dynamic community where families, educators, and students collaborate and support one another, creating a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere.
We also have co-op opportunities for work trade (not teaching). We value your time in exchange for tuition.
